Cycling is a great way to exercise, see sights, and make new friends. It is also a great way to reduce stress, improve mental health, and reduce emissions from your vehicle. If you're considering starting cycling as a form of exercise, here are some tips.
1. Purchase a helmet. Cycling without a helmet is risky, and it's also illegal in some jurisdictions. A helmet can protect your head in the event of a crash.
2. Establish a regular routine-cycling for 30 minutes every day will help to improve your fitness and stamina.
3. Find a comfortable cycling position-try to sit a little higher in your saddle than you usually would, and position your arms slightly wider than shoulder width.
4. Keep your eyes forward-concentrate on staying in line with the bike, and avoid looking down.
5. Balance yourself- if you're losing balance, apply gentle pressure to the brakes to slow down.
6- Avoid over-stretching-if you feel like you're going too hard, rest briefly to let your muscles recover.
